The VeRelief device may cause minor muscle contractions in the neck area. This is common with any electrical nerve stimulator, especially if you are targeting a nerve in a region dense with muscle fibers.
While VeRelief targets the auricular branch of the vagus nerve in a region with very little muscle fibers, it is not uncommon to experience muscle twitching during your session. There is nothing dangerous about this occurring, but if it becomes uncomfortable, you should either turn down the intensity of the device, or move the device around in the target area until the twitching goes away.
Muscle twitching does not mean you are in the wrong spot. It is simply a low risk side effect of using an electrical nerve stimulation device. In fact, there are devices out there specifically designed to cause muscle twitching for the purpose of relieving aches and pains, demonstrating there are no dangers if you experience muscle twitching with your VeRelief device.
