High performance individuals such as athletes, musicians, executives, working professionals, and busy parents often face high stress situations. Sometimes these situations can cause a severe amount of stress and can inhibit performance.
When this happens frequently, it can cause a person to develop performance anxiety which is notorious for causing people to choke under pressure and ruining careers.
VeRelief Prime is programmed with a mode designed to help you keep calm before a stressful situation so you can perform your best. This article will describe the Performance Protocol and the main use cases of Mode 4.
Mode 4: The Performance Protocol
Mode 4 is designed to help people keep their nervous system in a calm in high stress situations. It uses a 100Hz frequency waveform that ramps on and off in 5 second cycles. Specifically, it is "on" for 5 seconds, and "off" for 5 seconds. It repeats this pattern continuously.
The goal is for you to synchronize your inhales and exhales with the stimulation pattern. When the stimulation is in the "off" state, you'll want to take a deep breath. When the stimulation is in the "on" state, you'll want to exhale for 5 seconds. This breathing pattern guides you to 6 breaths/minute, which is known as coherent breathing and is the most effective breathing pattern to optimize nervous system balance and maximizing performance readiness.
Ideally you'll do this for a total of 2-5 minutes right before your performance in a high stress situation.
First, remove the cap and make sure there are fresh gel tips in the device. Turn up the intensity as high as you can comfortably tolerate and place it against your vagus nerve on the side of the neck just under the ear. Synchronize your breathing with the stimulation and repeat this breathing pattern for at least 2 minutes.
If you'd like, you can switch sides and stimulate the other side of your neck while practicing the breathwork. However, many people find stimulating one side at a time is effective enough.
Doing the performance protocol within 10-20 minutes before a major performance can have a significant impact on how you feel and ultimately perform under pressure.
