Stress Recovery Protocols: The 2-Minute and 10-Minute Methods

To help you achieve stress recovery and relaxation in any situation, we recommend two primary protocols: the 2-Minute Protocol and the 10-Minute Protocol. These methods are designed to enhance calm, improve well-being, and target vagus nerve stimulation effectively.


1. The 2-Minute Protocol

The 2-Minute Protocol is a quick and effective method for calming down in stressful situations.

How to Perform the 2-Minute Protocol:

  1. Hold the device in place for 1 minute on each side of your neck.
  2. Enhance the relaxation effects by synchronizing your breathing with the stimulation waveform:
    • Inhale during the off phase.
    • Exhale slowly during the on phase.

This method naturally guides your breathing to 3 breaths per minute, rapidly reducing stress and tension.

Benefits:

  • Achieve calm quickly in stressful, overwhelming, or nerve-wracking situations.
  • Portable and easy to practice anywhere.

Device-Specific Notes:

  • This is the default protocol programmed into the VeRelief Mini and VeRelief Reset.
  • On the VeRelief Prime, this is available in Mode 5.

2. The 10-Minute Protocol

The 10-Minute Protocol is ideal for deeper vagus nerve stimulation, providing enhanced recovery and relaxation benefits.

How to Perform the 10-Minute Protocol:

  1. Hold the device against your neck for 5 minutes on each side, totaling 10 minutes.
  2. Use an intensity as high as you can comfortably tolerate for the best results.

  • Supports mental health and nervous system recovery.
  • Enhances sleep quality and digestion.
  • Helps you achieve a meditative state or recover mentally before or after stressful events.
  • Provides longer-lasting and deeper relaxation.

When to Use the 10-Minute Protocol:

  • When you’re lying in bed and need help falling asleep.
  • When struggling to enter a meditative or relaxed state.
  • After a particularly challenging or overwhelming day.

Device-Specific Notes:

  • If you are using the VeRelief Mini or VeRelief Reset, we recommend not synchronizing your breathing with the stimulation waveform during this protocol.
  • On the VeRelief Prime, use Modes 1-3 for optimal results.
