Can VeRelief treat Anxiety & Depression?

VeRelief is known as an auricular vagus nerve stimulator. While there are many studies that demonstrate auricular vagus nerve stimulation can effectively reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, VeRelief is not intended to be used as a treatment to anxiety or depression and has not been evaluated by the FDA for those indications.

However, it is an excellent tool to help those living with anxiety and depression feel better quickly when they are having anxiety flare ups, stress responses, or even panic attacks.

For chronic anxiety, you can find a summary of some of the findings in various auricular vagus nerve stimulation studies. Please note that these studies report on auricular vagus nerve stimulation ONLY. The same protocols do not apply to cervical vagus nerve stimulation which is done on the front side of the neck.

VeRelief Studies on Stress and Anxiety

To say someone has anxiety means that person has a tendency to be anxious in situations where a normal person would not be anxious.

To say that someone is stressed means that person is experiencing an elevated nervous system, known as a fight or flight response.

Anxiety is typically found in the mind and is characterized by excessive amounts of worrying thoughts and unnecessary apprehension about daily events.

Stress is typically a physical response to anxiety or external factors and is characterized by racing thoughts, muscle tension, rapid heart rate, sweaty palms, high blood pressure, and many other physical symptoms.

VeRelief has demonstrated an immediate effect at reducing state-anxiety and stress levels in both healthy and chronically anxious populations. However, it has not been evaluated for long-term impact on chronic anxiety and depression levels.
